About Us
Africa Centre for Energy and Environment Solutions (ACEES) limited is a consultancy firm and social enterprise in renewable energy technologies, sustainable energy services and environmental planning and management.
Registered as a Limited Company in Kenya under the company’s Act Cap. 486, ACEES was formed under the framework and understanding that millions of people in sub-Saharan Africa need access to proper mechanisms for enhancing sustainable use of energy and environmental resources.
Hence, ACEES seeks to integrate natural resource management and conservation through active involvement in public-private partnerships in energy and environment projects.

Our Vision
To be the leading energy and environmental consultancy firm integrating energy efficiency, renewable energy technologies, and environmental planning and conservation for sustainable development in Africa.

Objectives
To promote gender mainstreaming in all our project design documents and implementation plans.
To build partnerships with other private organizations, government departments, civil society, and multilateral organizations with an aim of promoting green growth.
The Team

Ms. Esther A. Were
Managing Director
Esther Were has 7 years’ experience in Environment and Natural Resource Management. She is currently the project manager on biomass cookstoves innovation (Savika Biojiko) and alternative energies with ACEES Limited. A component of which she is currently using to pursue her MAPPM Project, titled “Factors Influencing The Adoption of Modern Cooking Technologies in Public Secondary Schools of Kenya: A Case Of Nairobi County’. Esther has competencies in Resource use planning and integrated environmental management, biomass energy projects development, community development and quantitative and qualitative research methods. Her industrial objective is to build her expertise as a research scientist in natural resource planning and management. Esther is registered as an Associate Environment Expert (Reg. no. 6743) with NEMA and is also a member of Environment Institute of Kenya (EIK).

Ms. Lydia Onunga
Manager, Social Enterprise and Business Development
Lydia is a trained educationist and plays a central role in the day to day running of the social enterprise and business development side of the company. She effectively utilizes management skills to improve the company’s operations as well as allow for all positive advancement within ACEES. She works in a competitive environment to enhance the motive of hardwork and determination in achieving the goals of ACEES.

Mr. Alex Magare
Manager, Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Technologies
B. Tech Mechanical and Production Engineering Alex is a graduate Mechanical Engineer and Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) expert with a vast experience in Safe Management and implementation of projects having worked in various oil and food industries. He works to offer solutions through ACEES in the quest for sustainability in the energy sector with the need to undo the evident deterioration of the environment.

Mr. Gaston Odiwuor
Manager Environmental Management and Planning
BSc. Food Science and Technology Gaston Odiwuor is a trained Food Technologist. Prior to joining ACEES, Mr. Gaston used to work with Galaxy Way Company Ltd where he served as a Senior Research Consultant offering professional advice on various areas including but not limited to sociological issues, impact assessment studies, and general academic writing. He has also worked with Kenya Tea Development Agency (KTDA), Nyankoba Branch as production line supervisor. Gaston has shown significant interest in energy management with key focus on tackling climate change issues.
